Adding an Outlet in a Pergola

We recently received this question about adding an outlet in a pergola. “I would like to run an outlet off of my ceiling fan on my pergola. I am mounting a TV up in the corner and need power up there. I would like a 4 receptacle outlet if possible.”

Yes, it’s possible, and also a good idea. As we add more electronics to our living space, we need to have available outlets. Safe outlets. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets wherever water might mix with electricity.

This image is an example of how a plastic cover protects the circuit from rain. There are many other styles available. You can pick one out and we can install it, or we can provide it as part of the job. Whichever you prefer.

If you have questions about any electrical projects, contact us today. We’ll be glad to give you technical advice and a free estimate.

Adding an outlet in a pergola is not a big job if there is already power there. If we have to trench a line to the pergola, it does become a larger job. The best way to find out is to get in touch and let us take a look.

We’ve been providing excellent service at reasonable prices since 1974. Let us show you why thousands of families have called us for service. And – why they keep calling us back!
