Mantle Outlets Add Flexibility
Fall days remind us that we'll be spending a lot more time inside our homes before long, and it also reminds us of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and other seasonal holidays coming up soon. Is your house all set to install the decorations that go with those family events -- or, are you still wishing you had extra outlets to give you more flexibility where you need it?
One excellent place for extra outlets is near the fireplace mantle. Although it isn't common for builders to put them above the mantle, more and more small, lighted decorations are being sold, and the mantle is a great place to display them.
We recently did a job for a family in which we installed an outlet on either end of their oak mantle. Here are two images of the way it turned out. The homeowner was very happy and will be using the new outlets before long.
