October is National Bullying Prevention Month. As you know, our resident superhero, SuperFrye Guy feels very passionately about this cause, and so do we! In honor of this month-long effort, we’ve compiled some resources you can use to teach your children about bullying and how to end it.

PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center

In 2006, PACER (the Parent Advocacy Coalition or Education Rights) begain the campaign with a week-long event; six years later, it’s evolved to a month’s worth of education and events with the theme of “The End of Bullying Begins with Me.” In the “resources” (Link) section of their website, there are many great tools and activities for learning about bullying and how to prevent it.

This government website is full of great resources for parents, teachers, and students. Learn about the different kinds of bullying, risk factors and warning signs, and how you can help your children cope with and put a stop to it. Bullying education can give your child the tools he or she needs to spot and stop bullying .

National Child Traumatic Stress Network

NCTSN supports National Bullying Prevention Month and has put together a list of resources which are helpful for raising awareness and educating. There are many resources specifically for families, teens, and tweens, along with educators, mental health professionals, and law enforcement.

SuperFrye Guy has also put together some resources of his own. His Anti-Bullying Coloring book can be found on his SuperSidekick club website. Your children can also enter Frye Electric’s Bullying Prevention Coloring Contest on Facebook this month. Or, join the SuperSidekick Club for year-round updates and advice for your kids on handling tough situations and preventing bullying.

We hope you’ll take advantage of these resources to educate your family about bullying. With everyone’s help, bullying can be prevented.
