We had high winds, lots of water, thunder and lightning yesterday. That resulted in a power outage for about 20,000 people in the Indianapolis-metro area. As of this morning around 9 AM, Indianapolis Power and Light reported about 11,000 are still without power.
Are you one of those who lost power, or one of those who had kept their power? All of our customers who have an Eaton standby generator system kept their power on. They were glad to have the assurance of the backup system protecting their homes. As soon as the Eaton system felt the power outage from the utility company, it automatically started the generator and fed the circuits with the needed replacement power. All connected electrical appliances kept on working normally, and the homeowner may not have even known the power switched to another source.
Several times a year in this central-Indiana area we have some type of power outage. Many people say “one of these days I’m going to get a generator.” If you are one of those people, now is the time to get one.
