USB Charging Made Easy

Recently a client wrote to ask whether charging devices must be connected to a computer.   Here is the answer to that question.

USB Charging Made Easy with Outlet Adaptors

Chargers with multiple ports are easy to add anywhere you have an electrical outlet and do not need to be connected to a computer.   Outlet adaptors are available from many manufacturers, are sold at many stores, and come with a variety of port configurations.

Some types of chargers require replacing the old outlet with the new one, but other configurations just plug into the existing outlet so no wiring is required.  This can be a very easy convenience-improvement to your home for $20 or less.

Here is an example of one type that is available.  Other types available include those with more USB outlets, or with different types of plug-ins, and some even include a surge protector.

Many of these adaptors will provide up to 2.1 amps of power, which is appropriate for many popular devices.   You should check your device to make sure the outlet power is a match for your equipment.
